aro 3am
It seemed that I barely fell asleep to hear knocks on our bedroom door. It was the 3.5 year old crying. She's fallen sick and she's telling us that she cannot breath. Poor child. She came up to our bed and fell asleep. Shortly after, she woke up, crying, insisting that she needed to look for her auntie May. The cycle repeated till nearly 6am. She told me that she had to go and see a doctor. She said she's feeling very uncomfortable. A part of me struggled to comprehend this request. It's only 6am and I barely slept. So I was really tired. But as I observed the tiny body sitting limply on the bathroom floor, struggling to breath, I realised that I mustn't take her request lightly. So off I went to get dressed and we headed out.
I was laughing at our luck. There was no way we could have boarded our lift as someone had threw up and made a big mess. So me with my old limbs + carrying the 3.5 year old, made our way down the stairs. Fortunately, it was only 8 flights of stairs. When we finally made it to the void deck, it started to pour. What luck?!?
The doctor and nurses confirmed that the 3.5 year old has acute bronchitis. She has a temperature, unstable supply of oxygen in her body (94% is considered unfavourable). She was given 4 doses of inhaler to rid the phlegm and to open her airways. On top of that, she had to inhale supply of oxygen. The doctor had wanted to ward her for observation. At the very last hour, her oxygen level increased to 96%-98%. (We were there from 6.30am-10.30am)
She cried real bad with her first dose of inhaler. She was screaming "Melly... Melly..." The nurses burst out laughing. But then she managed to grab a couple of sweets from the nurses and calmed down. She even made friends with the nurses and doctor.
The price I had to pay for her bravery... S$36.00 for 2 bunnies. She said she's a RABBIT MUMMY. Hmm...
Secretly, I wonder if KK Hospital would soon open up membership for regulars with entitlement to discounts. We've been regular visitors for the past couple of months. Some level of discount would be very much appreciated.
This was filmed while she's in the observation. I was amused to see her so calm and reading a magazine (as if she's so grown up).
